Training & Technical Assistance for AAU & UB MEPI Projects

In September 2010, Addis Ababa University (AAU) and the University of Botswana (UB) were awarded Medical Education Partnership Initiative (MEPI) funds as a contribution to both universities’ overall goal of Creating and Developing Sustainable Medical Education and Health Research Capacity in their respective countries.

Issue 4

Between July and September, ClASS teams visited three programs. George Washington University and the African Centre for Global Health and Social Transformation (ACHEST) serve as the US and African based Coordinating Centers for the Medical Education Partnership Initiative (MEPI). Another review team visited Addis Ababa where the General Nursing Capacity Building Project and the Nursing Education Partnership Initiative (NEPI) program office were assessed. No assessments were conducted during the October – December 2013.

A quarterly newsletter about developments in the context and administration of the ClASS methodology and framework. Subscribers to the newsletter will receive quarterly updates and invitations to participate in quarterly training and refresher sessions on newly developed tools.
